{"id":119377,"date":"2020-04-28T12:18:56","date_gmt":"2020-04-28T11:18:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/?p=119377"},"modified":"2020-04-28T12:18:56","modified_gmt":"2020-04-28T11:18:56","slug":"were-committed-to-flattening-the-curve-of-covid-19-spread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/were-committed-to-flattening-the-curve-of-covid-19-spread\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;We&#8217;re committed to flattening the curve of COVID-19 spread&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to ensure a flattening of the curve in the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state .<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello stated this on Monday when he received donations of chemical materials from  some  organisations to disinfect more areas in the state against community transmission of covid-19.<\/p>\n<p>Tunji Bello spoke through the Permanent Secretary, Office of Environmental Services, Mrs Aderonke Odeneye who also flagged off the fumigation and disinfecting exercise at the Alausa Secretariat with  the deployment of trucks and sprinklers round the state. <\/p>\n<p>The chemical items which were used to disinfect major bus stops, overhead Bridges was donated by Reckitt and Benkiser producers of JIK bleach, Medlog logistics limited and GMT limited.<\/p>\n<p>The deployment of the sprinkler and trucks was made possible by support from Julius Berger Plc.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mrs Odeneye, the disinfecting exercise is a continuous which can also be complimented by more public spirited organisations.<\/p>\n<p>The areas touched by the  team made up of  officials of the ministry include all the bus stops and overheads on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road down to the Toll point and the Ajah Roundabout.<\/p>\n<p>The exercise also reached the Agege Motor Road down to Mangoro, Cement, Ile Zik bus stop and the Ikorodu axis starting from Ketu through to Mile 12, Owode Onirin and down to Ajegunle and Ikorodu roundabout.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to ensure a flattening of the curve in the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state .
