{"id":153032,"date":"2023-07-10T05:04:06","date_gmt":"2023-07-10T04:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/?p=153032"},"modified":"2023-07-10T05:09:20","modified_gmt":"2023-07-10T04:09:20","slug":"153032-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/153032-2\/","title":{"rendered":"I worked for Tinubu against PDP during election, says Fayose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"caps\"><strong>Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti, says he will not accept a ministerial appointment from President Bola Tinubu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Fayose said young people should be given a chance in the cabinet of Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the future of the young people in the country had been \u201cstolen\u201d, adding that it is important they are given the opportunity to serve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not looking for a position. I will never take it (referring to ministerial appointments),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I want to be honest with you, any of us that have reached the age of 65 and above, Asiwaju should tell us to go and bring our children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlready, their future had been stolen. The future of these young people had already been stolen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former governor said he supported Tinubu to win the presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he did not \u201cwork\u201d for his party\u2019s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, owing to the conflict he had with the party.<\/p>\n<p>The former governor added he cannot support a party that suspended him and his son, as he had \u201csuffered tremendously\u201d for the PDP.<\/p>\n<p>He said his support for Tinubu was based on the principle that it is the turn of the southern region of the country to produce the president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never worked for the PDP during the last elections. I cannot work for two people at the same time,\u201d Fayose said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reality is that I worked for Asiwaju. He is a respectable person from the south-west.
