The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari said he refused to be provoked into discussing President Jonathan\u2019s family, health and religion because he\u2019s preoccupied with issues affecting the country.<\/p>\n
Buhari said on his Twitter handle (@ThisIsBuhari) that he is worried by Jonathan\u2019s desperation, anger and threats, adding that elections are not wars.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a tragedy to see the ruling party focus on pettiness and lies; rumours of cancer, foreign treatment, and certificates they know exist,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said Jonathan\u2019s \u201cdesperation is beyond my understanding. \u201cWhat is this obsession with lies? What is this obsession with pettiness? What is this obsession with threats and attacks? <\/p>\n
\u201cAll of us, citizens and voters need to ask ourselves – why is our President so desperate? <\/p>\n
\u201cHow can the President of this country be talking about remembering phone numbers and coup speeches? How can a President who has led this country for six years be unable to run on his own record and his achievements?\u201d the APC flag bearer said.<\/p>\n
He wondered why Jonathan has become so desperate, saying \u201cwhere is his fabled calm, where is his reserve, where is his composure? Why is he so ruffled? Why is he so frustrated and afraid?\u201d<\/p>\n
He said Nigerians \u201cshould be deeply worried that a President who called for calm during governorship elections has now lost his cool in his own elections,\u201d adding that \u201cour President and his allies must remember that he is not only a candidate for office; he is the President of Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n
