Chairman, Board of Trustees, Peoples Democratic Party, Tony Anenih, fhas said that the party will not rue the departure of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.<\/p>\n

Anenih, who succeeded Obasanjo as BOT Chairman following the former president\u2019s resignation in 2007, told journalists at the presidential villa Monday afternoon that the party leaders will not miss the retired general. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe (Obasanjo) has the right to leave any party, and he has the right to join any party.\u00a0He is a Nigerian,\u201d Anenih said, adding that the exit was not a \u201cbig loss\u201d to the party, asking rhetorically: \u201cWhy should we miss him?\u201d <\/p>\n

Anenih was minister of works when Obasanjo was president and was often referred to as \u201cMr Fix It\u201d because of the belief that he could get anything fixed politically. <\/p>\n

He, however fell out with Obasanjo in 2007 when President Umaru Musa Yar\u2019Adau came to power. <\/p>\n

The PDP constitution was amended to deny Obasanjo sole franchise to the position of BoT chairman, and Obasanjo subsequently resigned. <\/p>\n
