The acclaimed Nigerian power vocalist Waje of the \u201cOmini Knowest\u201d fame is in Kenya thanks to the upcoming new season of Coke Studio Africa! <\/p>\n

The singer is in Nairobi recording music in collaboration with Ivorian multitalented performing artiste, Serge Beynaud, considered as the musical phenomenon of the French speaking youth and best known for the hit first album Seul Dieu. Waje and Serge will be produced by the Ugandan producer Bushingtone, Radio & Weasel\u2019s long-term collaborator.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively on the DISCOVER themed season and her experience, she said, \u201cSince the last time I was on Coke Studio Africa [things have changed]. It\u2019s interesting because the last two times I worked with East African artistes: Diamond and Navio,\u201d adding, \u201cNow I am working with Serge Beynaud from C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire. We have a language barrier and that makes me very curious to know more and learn.\u201d <\/p>\n

So far, the artistes have made beautiful sounds that will definitely unite African music fans. Wajerevealed on working with Serge and Bushingtone, \u201cWe have a lot of in common! When the beat first came out we both put in similar melodies,\u201d adding on the cultural exchange, \u201cWe hope to explore Kenya more, meet people and eat good food. <\/p>\n

“Because of Serge now I am speaking French. I am optimistic of the things he will teach me and how I will diffuse that into my music and share my experience with my fans.\u201d Another reason as to why the new season of Coke Studio Africa can\u2019t be missed! Wait and watch Nigeria and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire.<\/p>\n

Coke Studio Africa is a non-competitive show seeking to bring together, and showcase the diversity of African musical talent. Additionally to Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Mozambique – the upcoming season 4 of Coke Studio Africa now includes artistes from Ethiopia, Togo, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast. <\/p>\n

The show gives upcoming artistes the opportunity to work with some of the best local and international music and production talent. It brings together artistes from different genres, eras and regions to create a modern and authentic African sound through musical fusion.<\/p>\n

Waje made her breakthrough when she remade a P Square hit DO Me. She participated in MTV South Africa\u2019s Advanced Warning Reality TV Show, where she came out as the first runner up. <\/p>\n

By the time she released her single \u201cFor A Minute\u201d, she had cemented her position as one of Nigeria\u2019s biggest acts to watch. She continues to enjoy both critical and commercial acclaim as one of Africa\u2019s most respected musicians.<\/p>\n
