Lagos State Head of Service, Olabowale Ademola has commended the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) for its commitment towards the cause of the State Government in the professionalization of Human Resource Management in the Public Service.

Ademola gave the commendation in Lagos at the special Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) induction of 187 Administrative and Human Resource Officers in the State Public Service.

Ademola noted that the induction of the HRM Officers in the Public Service was the culmination of the efforts by the present administration in the State to professionalize HRM practices in the Public Service in line with international best practices.

“I recall that one of the very first decisions of the State Government at the inception was the need to ensure the professionalization of HRM practices in the Public Service in line with international best practices thus today’s event is therefore a culmination of that exercise and I am really delighted,” Mrs. Ademola said.

She recalled that at the 45th Annual National Conference of the CIPM, the State Government expressed its readiness to advance HRM practice in the State Public Service and sought the collaboration of the Institute adding that the induction of the 187 HRM Officers is therefore a testament of the State Government’s preparedness to offer excellent service to its citizenry and fulfilment of the invite to CIPM.

Mrs. Ademola therefore charged the new inductees as the new ambassadors of HRM practice in the Public Service to internalise the professional ethics of their Institute as well as manifest best HRM practices in the Service.

“As Associates and full members of Nigeria’s prime human resource Institute, you must live up to service excellence as Public Servants. You must also internalise the professional ethics of the Institute.

“I congratulate you jointly and severally on this achievement. It is a plus for our Public Service and you must live up to expectations. Please note that the Office of Head Service will be on the lookout for positive returns on this investment in capacity building,” the Head of Service averred.
