{"id":67877,"date":"2017-07-21T18:08:07","date_gmt":"2017-07-21T17:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/?p=67877"},"modified":"2017-07-21T18:08:07","modified_gmt":"2017-07-21T17:08:07","slug":"nse-turnover-appreciates-97-bullish-trading","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmail-ng.com\/nse-turnover-appreciates-97-bullish-trading\/","title":{"rendered":"NSE turnover appreciates by 97% in bullish trading"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The volume of shares traded on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday appreciated by 97.56 per cent as investors staked N5.11 billion on 378.19 million shares in 4,516 deals.<\/p>\n<p>The turnover was higher when compared with 191.43 million shares worth N2.18 billion exchanged in 3,718 deals on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>A breakdown of the activity chart indicated that Access Bank was the toast of investors, accounting for 115.82 million shares valued at N1.15 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Zenith Bank came second with an exchange of 39.43 million shares worth N888. 37 million, while UBA sold 36.56 million shares valued at N32 8.2 million.<\/p>\n<p>Guaranty Trust Bank transacted 27.62 million shares worth N1.03 billion and Skye Bank exchanged 20.03 million shares valued at N14.81 million.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the market indicators remained upbeat, appreciating by 0.96 per cent, as a result of gains posted by some blue chips.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the All-Share Index rose by 324.44 points or 0.96 per cent to close at 34,020.27 against 33,695.83 achieved on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Also, the market capitalisation which opened at N11.613 trillion inched N112 billion equivalent of 0.96 per cent to close at N11.725 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Lafarge Africa recorded the highest price gain to lead the gainers\u2019 table, growing by N5.40 to close at N60 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote Cement rose by N3 to close at N212 and Zenith Bank chalked up 90k to close at N22.95 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Total chalked up 88k to close at N256.99, while PZ industries grew by 75k to close at N22 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, Nestle led the losers\u2019 chart with a loss of N2 to close at N918 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Nigerian Breweries lost N1.35 to close at N159 and Berger Paint dipped 35k to close at N6.77 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Presco dropped 32k to close at N61, while Union Bank of Nigeria shed 17k to close at N5.30 per share.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The volume of shares traded on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday appreciated by 97.56 per cent as investors staked N5.11 billion on 378.19 million shares in 4,516 deals.
