The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday inaugurated N5.9 billion worth of projects in Zamfara.<\/p>\n
The projects inaugurated include Semi Urban water project and the upgraded General Hospitals in Gamji and Bakura towns, in Bakura local government area of the state.<\/p>\n
Others were 12.8 km Talata-Mafara bye-pass road, Government Girls\u2019 College, Talata-Mafara, and Abubakar Tunau Model Primary School in Talata-Mafara local government area.<\/p>\n
Speaking while inaugurating the renovated Government College, Talata-Mafara, the Acting President commended Gov. Abdul\u2019aziz Yari for executing meaningful development projects in the state.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cI am delighted to be in Zamfara today to inaugurate these projects, \u201cSince 2016 every year I visit this state to inaugurate projects in the areas of Roads, Education, Health, Agriculture and Electrification sectors.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thank governor Abdul\u2019aziz Yari and his team for a good administrative system that is working to improve the quality of lives of people at rural communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He, therefore, urged people of the state to take advantage of the projects and ensure their maintenance for future benefits.<\/p>\n
He thanked the people of the state for their hospitality and solidarity to President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Gov. Abdul\u2019aziz Yari, had said that the 120-bed capacity upgraded general hospital Bakura, cost the state government over N463 million.<\/p>\n
Yari said that the project was part of the various health care development projects across the state, adding that the state spent over N3.3 billion to renovate the selected general hospitals across the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cRecently, we recruited 100 doctors and 400 nurses into the state health sector aimed at improving the human resources in our hospitals.<\/p>\n
\u201cGamji water works is one of the 168 semi-urban water projects executed across the state. A total of over N2.5 billion was expended on the project.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition N114 million was expended on the reconstruction of the Abubakar Tunau Model Primary School project, while over N937 million was spent for the reconstruction of Government Girls\u2019 College Talata-Mafara\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
Chairman of the ceremony, Alhaji Lawal Liman, said that the projects inaugurated were among the 218 identified projects across the state executed by the present administration.<\/p>\n
Liman who is the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said that out of the identified projects 109 have been selected by the state government for commissioning this year to mark the Six year anniversary of governor Abdul\u2019aziz Yari\u2019s administration.<\/p>\n
