A 500 level Applied Geophysics student of the Federal University of Technology, FUTA, Tunji Agboola, at the weekend slumped and died while playing football at his off campus residence close to FUTA South gate.
He was rushed to the university’s health centre, but the centre was not open due to the ongoing strike by the Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU. He was later rushed to a private hospital in the area, but was not attended to due to the lack of oxygen.
He was eventually taken to the State Specialist Hospital, Akure, where he was confirmed dead.
