Adeleke buried amidst wailings, protests

The remains if the first civilian governor of Osun State and serving senator, Isiaka Adeleke, who died in the early hours of Sunday, April 23, 2017, at a private hospital in Osogbo has been buried amidst wailing .

Prior to the burial, there was heavy presence of security personnel led by the state Commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye.

Some angry youths in the town told the commissioner that they would prevent state government officials from attending the burial, alleging that Adeleke was poisoned.

Idiat Babalola, the Senior Special Adviser to Gov. Rauf Aregbesola on Diaspora, who came for the burial, was mobbed and it took the intervention of policemen to ferry her out of the residence.

The atmosphere at the late senator’s house was tense as sympathisers and family members were weep profusely.

Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and his Ogun counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun attended the burial.
