Five of the six Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs have resigned from service.
According to them, having attained the pinnacle of their career, it was time to leave.
They thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the opportunity to service the nation.
The decision of the senior officers to resign was not unconnected with the appointment of Col Hammed Ali, a retired Army officer and confidant of the president as Customs Comptroller-General.
The five Deputy Comptroller-Generas tendered their resignation in a single letter addressed to the chairman, Nigerian Customs Board.
