Election duty: DPO, four others injured in lone accident in Ogun

Five policemen including a Divisional Police Officer were seriously injured in a lone accident that occurred at Wasinmi area along Lagos – Abeokuta expressway in Ewekoro local government area of the State.

The Police were monitoring the ongoing Governorship and State Assembly elections when the accident occurred

Also, an eyewitness said the rickety hilux bus of the Nigeria Police Force with registration number is NPF 8182 C belonging to Ewekoro Divisional Police had its front tyre bursted before it somersaulted several times leaving its occupants seriously injured.

Our correspondent gathered that the Divisional Police Officer, identified as B.O. Bakare was posted from Ado Odo division to monitor election in the area.

Others involved in the accident includes one Ologbese Vincent, Nuhu and two others whose their identities could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

Ologbose was seriously injured with blood stains all over his body while one of the policemen has his leg broken and others wriggling in serious pains.

One of the officers, Oyewole Afolabi who was involved in the accident was fuming and shouting that he has warned them that he is not going with them as they were not posted to the area.

Oyewole, a Corporal lamented that the driver of the bus was on high speed and noted that the driver dozed off, leading to the accident.
