The Nigerian troops have intercepted four fleeing suspected Boko Haram terrorists reportedly planting Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, along the troops main supply routes.

Operation LAFIYA DOLE was on a clearance mission to rid the routes of IEDs at Gombori when it located and recovered two heavy IEDs buried in the ground by suspected remnants of Boko Haram terrorists.

The arrests followed information provided by an arrested suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Lawan Abbai, though the terrorists claimed that they were on their way to surrender to troops.

On preliminary investigation, they were identified as confirmed Boko Haram terrorists members planting IEDs along troops routes by their arrested colleague, Lawan Abbai.

Additionally, the troops rescued five women and a baby from Boko Haram terrorists at the same general area.
