The National Association of Nigerian Past Students Union Presidents, Nasarawa State chapter, said it would support the gubernatorial campaign of former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku with N1.5 million.

The President of the association in the state, Newman Solomon, made the disclosure on Friday when he led other executive members of the association on a visit to Maku at Wakama in Akun Development Area of the state.

Solomon, who said that the support was part of the association’s contribution to Maku’s campaign efforts, urged the former minister not to relent in the struggle to actualise his dreams.

He said “we are here to facilitate and celebrate with you and your family on the occasion of the new year and to assure you of our continued support to enable you to realise your ambition.

“We are past students’ union leaders. We will support you with N1.5 million to enable you to tackle some financial challenges in the course of your campaign.’’

Responding, Maku thanked the association for the visit and the donation and assured them of people-oriented projects, if elected as governor.

He said “there is no going back in my gubernatorial ambition, it is still on course and intact and there is no amount of intimidation from any group that would stop me from realising my ambition.”
