Dr Dakuku Peterside, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers, has urged campaign committees of the party to work hard for the party’s success in the general elections.
Peterside who made the call in Port Harcourt at the inauguration of 13 campaign committees for the February elections, urged the committee members to bring to bear, their skills, talents and passion to ensure that APC won the elections, scheduled for February.
“We have selected a pool of competent experienced men and women to drive our election process. We have also carefully considered your different skills, talents, passion and commitment to the APC agenda of driving away poverty in Nigeria.
“Your selection is a well-considered decision and it means that the party has so much confidence in your person and in your dedication to our shared vision,” he said.
Peterside urged the committees to reach out to every Rivers man and woman to embrace the party’s message.
“Every Rivers man and woman has something special to contribute to the accelerated progress of Rivers State.
“This committee will have the responsibility of reaching out to the high and mighty, great and small, because we believe that they have something to offer in our quest to a greater Rivers State,” he said.
The candidate urged the Mobilisation Committee to move to all parts of the state to bring out our people to be part of our system.
“We will not only include non-indigenes in our system but they will be part of our government.
“Those who dwell, do business here and pay taxes here, are part of Rivers State and are entitled to everything a Rivers man is entitled to,” he said.
Peterside said if elected, his administration would tackle poverty among the populace.
In his speech, the Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Davies Ikanya, urged the committees to work hard and canvass for votes.
“Go to the nooks and crannies of Rivers State and get the votes for the APC,” he said.
