The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All-Share Index on Wednesday recorded marginal appreciation, rising by 56.67 points or 0.17 percent from the level of transaction on Tuesday.
The index closed at 34,355.31 points as against 34,298.64 points posted on Tuesday.
Market capitalisation at the day’s trading rose by N21 billion to close at N11.68 trillion against N11.65 trillion recorded at the close of business the previous day.
Total led the gainers’ table with N6.40 appreciation of its stock to close at N159 per share.
Beta Glass came second with a gain of N1.87 to close at N39.97, while Presco increased by N1 to close at N32 per share.
Dangote Cement grew by N1 to close at N180 per share, while Lafarge Africa rose by 49k to close at N96.99 per share.
On the other hand, Nestle topped the losers’ chart, declining by N11 to close at N860 per share.
CAP trailed with a loss of 50k to close at N41 per share, while Mobil Oil lost 44k to close at N149.56 per share.
Inter Link lost 32k to close at N4.43 per share and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated dipped 18k to close at N21.32 per share.
Investors bought and sold 309.72 million shares valued at N3.72 billion transacted in 5,386 deals, as against the 557.61 million shares worth N3.71 billion traded in 3,663 deals on Tuesday.
Mansard Insurance increased activity with a total of 36.35 million shares valued N105.25 million.
Sterling Bank trailed with 27.58 million shares worth N58.48 million, while United Bank for Africa sold 27.24 million shares valued N144.20 million.
Learn Africa accounted for 21.29 million shares worth N24.49 million and Skye Bank traded 20.75 million shares valued N58.07 million.
