The Nigerian Police has boasted that it has secured the Ikorodu area of Lagos where daredevil robbers raided banks in the area.
“#Ikorodu Lagos now secured after our officers responded to Bank robbery this morning. Police units remain on ground. #NPFalert #NPFtraffic,” the Nigerian Police posted on its Twitter handle, @PoliceNG.
The police claim is however coming, hours after the armed robbers that raided branches of First Bank and Zenith Bank at the Ogolonto area of Ikorodu had escaped with an unspecified amount of money.
New Mail had reported earlier that the robbers who attacked the banks located at Ipakodo Ebute, near Ogolonto in Ikorodu, used speed boats in accessing the community.
The Nigerian Police on its Twitter handle: @PoliceNG said: “Our officers are responding to armed robbery at #Ogolonto Ikorodu Lagos. Citizens are advised to stay off vicinity; Lagos now secured after our officers responded to Bank robbery this morning. Police units remain on ground.”
