The Force Headquarters (FHQ), has clarified that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, was yet to sight the Bench Warrant order for the arrest of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Justice Danladi Umar, had issued a bench warrant on Saraki, for failing to appear before the specialised court, to defend respond to a 13-count charge of alleged failure to declare assets as a public officer, as alleged by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
But, responding to enquiry on whether the IGP, will proceed to execute the order of the court, and how soon that will be, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olabisi Kolawole, an Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), said the order was yet to be served on the Police boss.
Kolawole said that if the police get the directive, it will carry it out, stressing however that the IGP was yet to get the directive.
