Three persons have been reported killed and several cars set ablaze on Thursday as Hausa and Yoruba traders clashed at the Mile 12 Market, Lagos State.

Our correspondent gathered that the clash started on Tuesday after a Hausa commercial bike rider knocked down a woman and refused to taker her to the hospital for medical treatment.

The bike rider was allegedly told to take the woman to hospital, but the rider and his colleagues refused, insisting that the motorbike association, which used to collect toll from them, should take care of the woman.

There were heated argument and before one knew what was happening, motorbike riders started fighting.

The fighting snowball today, when some Yoruba thugs invaded the market on Thursday and for reasons traders are yet to fathom, started attacking Hausas.
