With just one local government(Ilaje) still being awaited at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, collation centre in Akure, the All Progressives Congress, APC, party candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu has thanked the people of Ondo state for voting him, saying he is humbled by their decision in choosing him at the poll.
Akeredolu made the statement through his twitter handle, @RotimiAkeredolu, in an unwavering anticipation of finally being declared the winner of the election by INEC.
“Ondo has decided and I am humbled that my people chose me. Our time to Think Anew and Act Anew has come. Thank You Ondo State,” Akeredolu tweeted.
Out of the 18 local government areas in the state, the results of 17 have been collated and announced while one is being awaited.

So far, Akeredolu has won fourteen (14) out of the already collated and announced results from the 18 local government areas. Eyitayo Jegede, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate has so far won two (2) local government areas while the AD candidate, Olusola Oke has won one (1).
