The PDP National Chairman, Adamu Mu`azu, has charged Iyiola Omisore, the party`s candidate for the forth coming Osun governorship election to reconcile aggrieved members of the party in the state.
Mua’azu gave the charge on Thursday in Abuja, shortly before presenting the party`s certificate of return to Omisore, who won the party`s ticket to contest the Osun governorship election.
“You must go and see all party members that had been hurt in one way or the other as a result of the primaries. Get them onboard, so that we will be able to get a smooth ride,’’ Mu`azu said.
According to him, the task ahead is not an easy one, especially on the premise that the state is presently being ruled by the opposition.
Mua’azu, however, expressed the hope that with Omisore as the party`s candidate for the election slated for Aug. 9, PDP would reclaim the state.
He assured Omisore of the support and cooperation of the party`s leadership and called on members in the state to support him as the party`s candidate for the election.
The national chairman also urged PDP members in the state to remain committed and to ensure they waited to guard their votes after casting.
Responding, Omisore said that though the task to reclaim the state from the All Progressive Congress (APC), was daunting, it was not insurmountable.
“The journey to remove APC indeed in Ekiti, Osun and the South West, is a journey that must be achieved and the task must be put behind us.
“I want to assure the national chairman that we are ready for the task and we are not unaware of the work involved, the scope of work and the tactics involved in getting APC off Osun state. ’’
Omisore, however, expressed optimism that the PDP would reclaim Osun, adding that party members in the state, would not sit and watch the election rigged by anybody.
He maintained that election rigging in the south- west, was worst than armed robbery.
