UNIFEMGA holds confab n corruption

Stakeholders in the fight against corruption will on Sunday Aug. 27, converge in Ibadan to brainstorm on the best way to curb corruption in the society in line with the present administration policy.

The platform, which is being provided by the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) Ibadan chapter at its 13th Biennial conference, will hold at the Islamic Centre, Housing, Bodija, Ibadan from 10 am.

In a statement by the 2017 chairman of the conference, Dr Abdur-Rasheed Fasasi said its theme is: “Fight Against Corruption; Where are the Religious leaders and Institutions?

Fasasi said Prof. Abdul-Afis Oladosu, an erudite scholar from the University of Ibadan, will be the guest speaker while Dr Sulleiman Adediran, an Education Consultant, will chair the occasion.

Other stakeholders expected at the conference were the representatives of the anti-graft agencies like ICPC, EFCC, Barr. Adebayo Shittu, Minister of Communication and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, former Minister of Sports and Engr. Abdulwaheed Odeyimka, National President of UNIFEMGA.

Other highlights of the conference include taking of reports of various standing committees, appointment of new executive officers and unfolding another five-year development plans of the association.

Fasasi said that at the end of the conference, the resolutions and recommendations on the way forward on war against corruption will be forwarded to the appropriate government agencies for implementation.
