Adamawa Governor, Nyako, sacks 12 aides

Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa has sacked of five of his special advisers and seven principal special assistants.

A statement issued in Yola by Kobis Thimnu, the Secretary to the State Government, “Gov. Murtala Nyako has approved the withdrawal of the appointments of 12 political appointees with effect from May 21.”

“While the government thanks you for the services you rendered, you are kindly requested to hand over government documents and properties in your custody to the appropriate authority.”

The affected special advisers include Sanusi Jauro, Abdur-rahman Bobboi, Kelvin Peter, George Moses and Chubado Babbi.

The affected principal special assistants are, Hadiza Kuto, Sadiq Haske, Danjuma H., Bello Njidda, Gidado Aliyu, Shehu Jacob and Usman Marafa.

Nyako did not give reasons for the sack of the appointees but the governor has been embroiled in a row with the state House of Assembly amid speculations that lawmakers are pushing to remove him from office.

The assembly has given Nyako two weeks to pay workers a backlog of salaries and deductions made on their wages.
