Cameroon has continued their impressive campaign for qualification for African Cup of Nations (AFCON) by dismantling the start-studded Ivorian team 4-1. The Indomitable Lions now have two wins in two games in the qualifying round.
Vincent Aboubakar and Clinton Njie both scored a brace each to give the hosts a resounding victory.
Both forwards were also on target in the Indomitable Lions win on Saturday over DR Congo, in what was Njie’s international debut.
A deflection off a defender helped Njie put Cameroon ahead on 15 minutes only for Yaya Toure to level 10 minutes later when he slid in to convert a cross.
Aboubakar intercepted a headed back-pass for fire past veteran goalkeeper Boubacar Barry and give the home team a 2-1 half-time lead.
A loose ball was hammered home by Aboubakar on 54 minutes and he set up Njie to score with an unstoppable close-range shot 14 minutes from time.
