Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has asked the 82 recently released Chibok girls to be strong and to try and forget their ordeal so that they can continue their education. Mrs. Buhari spoke when she met with the girls in Abuja on Wednesday.
She said the strong prayers of the nation had kept them going and believed that the remaining girls still in captivity would soon be released; she further advised the girls that apart from their education they should also learn a trade in order to empower themselves.
Speaking further, Mrs. Buhari enlightened them on all the efforts that had been put into negotiating their release under the direction of the President and praised all the agencies and individuals involved.
Earlier, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had told the girls that they would soon be reunited with their parents and that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari would not relent until all the girls had been released.
Wife of the president was accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo, wives of the governors of Zamfara state, Asmau Yari; Kogi state, Rashidat Bello; Bauchi state, Hadiza Abubakar; Nasarawa state, Mairo Al Makura, and Sokoto state, Mairo Tambuwal.
