Akwa Ibom State has recorded its first five cases of deadly coronavirus, becoming the 13th state to have the infection in Nigeria.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control which made this known on Wednesday via its Twitter handle, said Nigeria now has a total of 174 confirmed cases.
It tweeted, “Twenty three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria – Nine in Lagos, seven in the FCT, five in Akwa Ibom, one in Kaduna and one in Bauchi State.
“As of 08:00 pm on the 1st of April, there are 174 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. Nine have been discharged with two deaths.
“Currently, Lagos has 91 cases, FCT- 35, Osun- 14, Oyo- eight, Ogun- four, Edo- four, Kaduna- four, Bauchi- three, Enugu- two, Ekiti- two, Rivers- one, Benue- one and Akwa Ibom – five.”
