Students of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education Sandwitch Degree Programme, Oyo on Thursday protested against an alleged over imposition of one of Alaafin of the wives of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi on the Students.

Sources claimed that Olori Adeyemi a.k.a Iya Meta who is a final year student of School of Arts and Social Sciences in the school, was on Tuesday allegedly caught cheating during one of her examinations through her phone by one Prince Adeyanju, an exam supervisor.

Sources said that after series of warnings, the Supervisor sent her out of the class but the Olori put a call through to her husband, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo.

Disturbed by the development, the royal monarch allegedly called the Provost of the College, asking him to intervene and return the Olori back to the class.

Despite the intervention, the Supervisor turned down the request.

On Wednesday, when the Olori has another examinatIon, and they separated male from the female, the Olori insisted that she cannot be separated from a particular boy siting beside her and apparently assisting her with her examinatIons.

With the school insistence on separation, the Olori reported the matter to the palace, which prompted the palace guards to storm the school and beat up staff and some students.

Apparently worried about the development, the students staged a protest thus distrupting the examinatIon process.

All attempts to get the reaction of Prof. Solomon Olaniyonu, Oyo state Commissioner of Education proved abortive as he was said to away in London.
