Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs) Ladele Omolola Aina as the 8th substantive Provost of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Otto-Ijanikin.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Obafela Bank-Olemoh, the appointment of Aina followed the expiration of the tenure of Wasiu Olalekan Bashorun as the 7th substantive Provost of the institution on 31st July, 2015.
According to the statement, Aina is to resume office on 12th January, 2016.
The Deputy Provost of the College, Ebenezer Oluwole Ajose had assumed the position of Acting Provost effective 6th August, 2015, until Aina’s appointment.
Born on 16th May, 1963, Aina, who is a Doctor of Mathematics, hails from Lagos Island of Lagos State.
She started her academic pursuits at the Yewande Memorial Nursery/Primary School, Surulere, Lagos and later enrolled at St. Anne’s School, Molete, Ibadan, Oyo State for her secondary education.
She studied Mathematics at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State.
The statement added that Aina obtained her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction Mathematics at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos and later bagged her Doctorate Degree in Mathematics Education at Edith Cowan University Perth, Western Australia.
Aina has written so many books on mathematics teaching and methodology. She is also a member of several academic and professional bodies.
She is happily married with children.
