APC wins 14 slots in Edo Assembly poll

The All Progressives Congress in Edo State has emerged the winner in the just concluded state House of Assembly polls conducted across 24 constituencies.

As of the time of filing this report, only the results of 15 constituencies was available, out of which the APC had won the Peoples Democratic Party in 14, taking the entire Edo North, Edo South and some parts of Edo Central.

In Akoko Edo constituency I, the APC polled 14,195 votes over 7,206 votes polled by the PDP. In Akoko Edo constituency II, the APC polled 2,074 votes over PDP’s 677. In Estako West I, the APC polled 11228 votes over 6321 votes polled by the PDP.

In Estako West II, the APC polled 14,373 votes over 4,001 votes polled by the PDP. In Ovia North East I, the APC polled 7,477 votes while the PDP polled 4,633.

In Ovia North East II, the APC polled 8,041 votes over PDP’s 5,462 votes. In Estako East, the APC polled 16,825 votes while the PDP polled 8,793 votes.

The highest votes or the APC came from Ovia East at 22,562, while the PDP polled 10,497 votes. In Owan West I, the APC polled 12,883 votes, the PDP polled 9,963 votes. In Egor, the APC polled its second highest votes at 19,554 while the PDP polled 12,223 votes.

In Oredo West II, the APC polled 13,127 votes over the PDP’s 10,193. In Oredo East, the APC polled 15,587 votes while the PDP polled 9,084 votes.

In Esan Central, the APC polled 10,557 votes while the PDP polled 8,201 votes. In Igueben, the home town of former APC stalwart, Chief Tom Ikimi, the APC polled 8,140 votes while the PDP polled 6,947 votes.

In Esan South East, the PDP recorded a victory with 18,867 votes while the APC polled 11,615 votes.
