Contrary to an earlier report that one of the wives of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland and vice president, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, Arisekola Alao, Alhaja Jelilat slumped and died, another family source just confirmed that the late Alhaja Jelilat actually died in a road accident along the Ilorin-Ibadan axis.
Family source confirmed to our correspondent in Ibadan on Wednesday morning that the late Jelilat met her untimely death in the crash on her way to Ilorin, where she was said to be going for medical check.
She died at age 63.
Though sources say the late Alhaja Jelilat is hypertensive, her sudden death, few days after her husband’s who was only buried last week has thrown the entire Arisekola’s household into another round of mourning.
The late Jelilat is the mother of Abdullahi Arisekola, the oil magnate currently standing trial in connection with the oil subsidy scam.
Her remains will be buried later today in Abdullahi’s residence in Apata, Ibadan.
