The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has told a gathering of the party chieftains and members of the party that his campaign structure will soon be unveiled ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Atiku stated that the 2023 party campaign strategy will be polling unit-based, in line with the new electoral process.
The former vice president was speaking on Saturday at the unveiling of the New Generation project named Rescue Nigeria in Abuja.
He said, “As far as the PDP is concerned, we are going to unveil a campaign structure soon with more emphasis on the polling units.
“We are not going to have an unwieldy campaign council and we are not going to be engaged in the jamboree campaign that they used to do.
“The party needs to change its strategy and frame-up its grassroot mobilization plan if it wants to win the 2023 general elections.
“As you know, our current electoral process is devolved in the polling unit.”
National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, in his remarks, told the gathering, “Do not relent in the rescue effort because I am very certain that come what may, next year, you will have a brand-new president, Atiku Abubakar.”
He congratulated the support group and urged them to continue with the political gospel of campaigning for the party to come out victorious in the forthcoming election in the country.
Vice presidential candidate of the party, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa spoke on the need to give the party’s presidential flag bearer the desired support to have the ability to undo the present insecurity and welfare challenges facing the nation.
“In troubled times such as we experience today, we need the guidance of those who have been tested; a man with nationalistic personnel to secure and not to destroy us and to foster our people yet again,” he noted.
