The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has accused Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi state, of interfering in the activities of the state assembly.

Speaking when he received some APC lawmakers from Bauchi, he accused the PDP lawmakers of shutting out their APC colleagues to elect their choice speaker during “nocturnal hours”, while insisting that the decision will not stand.

“The earlier the governor of Bauchi came to terms with this reality the better for him and for everyone.

“There is no way PDP can produce the speaker, the deputy speaker and other principal officers. If the governor insists, then he is inviting trouble for himself. He should have said he is vacating the governorship office until the determination of his case.

“If he had submitted to the rule of law, I don’t think Governor Bala Mohammed with all due respect would have no choice than to submit himself and the PDP in Bauchi to rule of law.”

The APC national chairman said since the ruling party did not misuse federal might or federal instrument to prevent the governor from being inaugurated, “it is a shame that he would rather sit and use federal institution to undermine the rights and privileges of the APC members elected duly by the people of Bauchi state certified by INEC to be inaugurated.”

The aggrieved APC lawmakers were led to the ruling party headquarters by Mohammed Abubakar, former governor of Bauch state.
