Over seventy people were on Monday given a brand new sewing and grinding machines in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital as part of political mobilization efforts of the state Labour Party governorship candidate, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB).

The distribution of the income generating equipments to regular men and women from the thirteen wards in Ado-Ekiti, according to a statement by Bolanle Olatunde-Bruce, Media & Publicity Secretary, Labour Party,
Ekiti State, was borne out of Opeyemi’s belief in empowering the people of the state.

“This event was neither the first nor second time M.O.B would give generously to his people to enable them fish for themselves rather than just giving them fish.

“He believes that setting up these small businesses for his people would enable them feed their children and families as well as set them on the path to accessing other future opportunities,” the statement added.

The obviously elated recipients were full of encomiums and praises for MOB who they fondly call “the promise keeper” that does not fail on his promises.

They enjoined him not to relent on his oars in doing good to his kinsmen.

An indigene of the state who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent in Ado Ekiti that it was obvious from the comments of the recipients that Hon Opeyemi Bamidele has truly endeared himself to his people by virtue of his philanthropy.

“The tools came as a relief to many of them who especially have financial constraints to acquire working tools to enable them earn a decent income,” the source said.

Hon Bamidele who was represented at the formal handing over ceremony of the equipments thanked the recipients and charged them to deploy the machines for gainful use.

He also assured Ekiti people that when he is elected governor of the state, his administration will do much more and would personally not betray the confidence reposed in him.
