Suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, may not return to her former position.
The president had asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe the ministry under Edu’s watch.
The President had also suspended Halima Shehu as the chief executive officer (CEO) of NSIPA and all programmes under NSIPA.
He also constituted a ministerial panel to conduct a review of the Agency’s operations with a view to recommending necessary reforms of the NSIPA.
However, on Tuesday, Presidential Spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, announced that Tinubu had appointed seven individuals to man agencies under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
The decision of President Tinubu to Shun Edu and appoint new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ministry was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to the President, the appointments are aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of the ministry’s initiatives and providing much-needed relief to Nigerians, especially vulnerable groups.
Dr. Badamasi Lawal was appointed to I’m as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA); Ms. Funmilola Olotu as Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office; Ms. Aishat Alubankudi as Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups.
Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and a former local government chairperson also made the list as Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding.

Other appointees include, Abdullahi Alhassan Imam as Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office; Ayuba Gufwan as Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities; Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello as Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.
“To facilitate the needed relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven qualified Nigerians to head strategic agencies and programmes under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
“Dr. Badamasi Lawal — Chief Executive Officer, National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). Dr. Lawal holds a doctorate degree in education, and he previously served as a commissioner in Katsina State.
“Ms. Funmilola Olotu — Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. Ms. Olotu holds a master’s degree in business administration, and she is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.
“Ms. Aishat Alubankudi — Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups. Ms. Alubankudi holds a bachelor’s degree in community development. She has experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.
“Princess Aderemi Adebowale — Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding. Princess Adebowale holds a doctorate degree. She is the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and previously served as a local government chairperson.
“Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam — Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office. Imam holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and has served as chief accountant, Northern Dairies Ltd, and as a bank manager.
“Mr. Ayuba Gufwan — Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities. Mr. Gufwan holds an LLB and is the executive director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, Jos.
“Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello — Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons. Ms. Binta holds a master’s degree in public administration and has served as the Secretary-General of ALGON, and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, as well as Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
“The President expects the new heads of these critical agencies and programmes to discharge the functions of their offices with utmost integrity and diligence so as to ensure that Nigerians, especially vulnerable groups, are the exclusive and direct beneficiaries of his administration’s reconfigured welfare programmes,” the statement reads.
President Tinubu has expressed his expectation that these appointees will perform their duties with the highest level of integrity and diligence, ensuring that the administration’s welfare programs reach and benefit the most vulnerable groups in society.
The statement also said the appointments are part of the administration’s efforts to reconfigure its welfare programmes to better serve the needs of Nigerians, especially the vulnerable.
