Buhari appoints ex-Senate leader, Ndoma-Egba, NDDC chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, the new Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

Also appointed was a former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Nsima Ekere, as the managing director of the Commission to replace Ibim Semenitari, who has been the acting CEO since December 2015

However, Ekere’s appointment could not be confirmed at the time of this report.

Ndoma-Egba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who hails from Cross River State, takes over from his kinsman, Bassey Ewa-Henshaw.

He was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party until September last year and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress in November when he resigned from the party following his inability to secure its governorship ticket of the former.
