The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday left Nigeria for the United Kingdom on a short working visit, his campaign office says.

While in the UK, Buhari is expected to address the Royal Institute of International Affair, Chatham House, a world renowned think-tank.

A statement issued by the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation said he would also hold meetings with key members of the British political establishment and interact with some global institutions with stakeholder interest in the affairs of Nigeria.

The APC presidential candidate is deemed a better alternative to President Goodluck Jonathan in spite of his antecedent as a former military dictator, whose regime has been dogged by reports of massive corruption, economic mismanagement and widespread insecurity.
