President Muhammadu Buhari may have approved the removal of the Head of Service of the Federation, Danladi Kifasi.
Already, top Federal Civil Service officials in the directors’ cadre have been informed of the development, but the Presidency is yet to name a replacement.
Kifasi was appointed by former President Goodluk Jonathan in August 2014.
Though no official confirmation and reason behind the removal was available at press time, PRNigeria reports that Kifasi’s removal may not be unconnected with the need to observe Federal Character principle since the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal, from Adamawa, is from the same north-east geo-political zone with Kifasi.
The HoS who had served as Permanent Secretary in several ministries including Federal Ministry of Finance and Petroleum has prepared for smooth handover in the event of the announcement of new HOS who may likely from the Southern part of Nigeria, PRNigeria stated.
