President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation at 8pm on Monday.
Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman, made the announcement of the president’s impending broadcast in a statement Monday afternoon.
”President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation Monday, April 27, 2020 at 8pm,” he said.
”Television, radio and other electronic media stations are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.”
Buhari first addressed the nation on COVID-19 on March 29 when he ordered a lockdown of the federal capital territory (FCT, Lagos and Ogun states following rising cases of the disease in these areas.
He addressed the nation again on COVID-19 on April 13 extending the lockdown.
Since the lockdown, Nigeria has recorded a total of 1,273 cases, 239 recoveries and 40 fatalities.
