The Senate on Tuesday received a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari, requesting the confirmation of Service Chiefs.
The letter, which was read by the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, is in accordance with the provisions of Section18 (1) of the Armed Forces Act, 2004.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on July 13 appointed Major-General Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin as Chief of Defence Staff and Major-General Tukur Buratai as Chief of Army Staff.
He also appointed Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas Chief of Naval Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar as Chief of Air Staff and Air Vice Marshal Monday Riku Morgan as Chief of Defence Intelligence.
Major-General Babagana Monguno (rtd.) was equally appointed as National Security Adviser.
