The Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel returned to the Chelsea line up against Everton on Saturday afternoon during their trip to Goodison Park.
It was the first start for the midfielder this season and it got the attention of fans, including Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh who expressed his delight via Twitter despite both not seeing eye to eye.
With the surprise inclusion of the Super Eagles man and the resultant deficit that the Blues quickly racked up, he got a lot of praise for his assist to Nemanja Matic to score the lone goal in the 3-1 loss.
By the time he was hauled off in the second half by Jose Mourinho and replaced by Brazilian youngster Kennedy, it was obvious that Mikel had proved his worth as he left a big hole in the midfield.
