Dangote Group has announced its plan to build a cement factory in Yamba, southern Congo, in an investment worth $292.9 million, its Chief Executive Officer, Aliko Dangote, has said.
Dangote spoke after a meeting with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso, according to a statement from the presidency.
Construction work for the factory, which will produce over 1.5 million tonnes of cement per year and create more than 650 jobs, will span two and a half years.
Dangote’s investment projects across Africa, specifically in South Africa, Ethiopia, Zambia, Senegal, Mozambique and Cameroon, are worth $10 billion.
