Delta State Government on Tuesday said it had approved N3.9 billion for the construction of a flyover along Airport Road, Warri to ease traffic congestion.
The Commissioner for Information in the state, Chike Ogeah, who disclosed this in Asaba while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting, said that N1.9 billion had been paid as mobilisation fee, while the balance would be paid as soon as possible for the delivery of the project on schedule.
He said that the council had approved N1.2 billion for the purchase of 25 KVA transformers for the completion of some ongoing electricity projects in the state. The commissioner said that 25 per cent of the mobilisation fee had been paid.
Ogeah said that the council had approved another N1.2 billion for the payment of some outstanding works at the Asaba Township Stadium.
He said that other projects, which include road construction, among other projects, were also given approval by the council.
The commissioner said that the dual carriage road construction the Mariam Babangida Road, which was abandoned due to the terrain of the area, was re-awarded at the cost of N84 million, while the construction of Okpanam Dual Carriage Way would cost N1.3 billion.
“The dualisation of Ajamimogha road, Warri, was also approved at the cost of N336 million.”
