DSS arraigns 40 B’Haram suspects over planned Lagos attack

A Lagos State Magistrate’s Court, sitting in Isolo on Friday, ordered the remand of 45 suspected members of the Boko Haram sect in Kirikiri prison.

The Department of States Services, which obtained the remand order against the suspects, told the court that they were arrested in connection with a foiled attack on Dolphin Estate in Lagos State last month.

The DSS said the suspects were arrested following an intelligence report on their planned attack on the Estate, a high brow area in Lagos.

The security operatives told the court that the suspects had volunteered confessional statements, adding that arms were recovered from them.

DSS urged the court to order their remand in prison pending further investigations.

According to the charge, filed before the court, the suspects included Abuyi Sheriff, Babagana Ali, Abass Ibrahim, Abubaka Grema, Kabiri Ibrahim, Mustaph Mohammed, Usman Mohammed, Modu Amsami, Isa Agafi, Adamu Jebili and Saja Kamba.

Among them also were Abba Sagoma, Mallam Buchu, Abdul-Kareem Abba, Babagana Koloye, Usman Buka, Adamu Mohammed, Lawal Mohammed, Tela Abana, Mustapha Mohammed, Isa Agafi, Belo Modu, Kachala Babagana, Modu Abu, and Alhaji Modu Mustapha.
