The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Edo Command, says it has concluded plans to commence the full enforcement on the usage of speed limiter by Feb.1.
Samuel Odukoya, the FRSC Sector Commander, made this known on Friday at a stakeholders meeting with motorists on the need to comply with the use of speed limiter policy.
Odukoya said that the meeting was to intimate the stakeholders on the need to put their vehicles up to date.
He said that any defaulter would be given various forms of sanctions, ranging from fine to jail terms.
“The use of speed limiter was adopted to help drivers to reduce speed which in turn will reduce accidents, carnage and deaths occasioned by road mishap.
“Advisory enforcement was carried out in October, 2016 after several postponements.
“There will be no going back on its enforcement expected to begin on Feb. 1,’’ he said.
Odukoya then called for the support and cooperation of stakeholders, saying that there two licence vendors saddled with the installation of the device on vehicles in the state.
