EKSG offers free services in 177 public health centres

Ekiti state government has embarked on free healthcare services to Ekiti residents at the 177 public health centres across the state under its twin programmes namely Ulerawa and basic health care provision fund.
The services rendered free at the facilities included maternal Health Care such Antenatal care, delivery, post natal services, family planning and Child care, nutrition as well as Malaria treatments for all categories of people.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Oyebanji Filani who led the state government health team to the Olojudo palace, Ido Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Areas of Ekiti State said as part of efforts to improve healthcare service delivery,the state government has stepped up sensitization activities on the twin programmes.
Filani stated that Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has committed huge amount of money to cater for the health need of Ekiti people.
He noted that the sensitization visit also featured medical outreach where residents of Ido Osi LGAs and its environs were registered and attended to on their various health needs.
“I also met with some of the Traditional rulers of the Local Government Areas particularly the Olojudo of Ido Ekiti who concindentally has just been appointed as the chairman Ekiti State Council of Obas, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro.” the Commissioner said.
Filani ,a medical doctor added that collection of cards, consultation and laboratory test are also free of charge at those facilities. He called on members of the public to take advantage of the programme.
In his remarks, the Chairman Ekiti Council of Obas and Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro expressed deep appreciation to Governor Oyebanji for the laudable health intervention and other developmental projects across the state.
Oba Faboro called on his subjects to maximize the opportunity provided by the programmes to cater for their health needs.
Other speakers at the event which included the Chairman, Ido/Osi Local Government Area Hon (Dr) Ogunsina, General Manager, Ekiti State Health Insurance Scheme, Charles Doherty, Executive Secretary, State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Ayodele Seluwa, Owalogbo of Ilogbo-Ekiti, Oba Edward Ajayi and Olugbole of Igbole-Ekiti, Oba Gbenga Ajayi Adetiloye ll applauded the governor for the timely health interventions.
