A former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Ondo State, Prof Albert Adeoye Ilemobade was on Monday abducted from his Ijapo, Akure resident by kidnappers.
The kidnap of the former vice chancellor came barely four days after the kidnap of the Executive Secretary of Cocoa Association of Nigeria (CAN), Michael Segun Adewunmi by abductors, who later released him 48 hours.
The former Vice Chancellor was said to have been kidnapped early yesterday along with his gateman.
A source within the family said it was a house help that raised the alarm of the kidnap of the septuagenarian.
It was learnt that the abductors, who went away with the car of their victim later abandoned the car along Ijare Road in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
While the abductors were yet to make contact with the family, friends and relations had begun to besiege the house of the septuagenarian.
Commenting on the incidence, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ondo State Command, Wole Ogodo said investigations had begun on the matter.
