The Golden Eaglets have qualified from Group A for the next round at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
At Estadio Sausalito, Vina Del Mar on Tuesday, the Eaglets who are the defending Champions defeated the host, Chile 1-5 to qualify for the next round even with one match to go in the group stage.
As soon as the match kicked off at exactly 12 midnight Nigerian time, midfielder, Samuel Chukwueze scored the first goal to put his colleagues in the right frame of mind.
In the 17th minutes, another midfielder Kelechi Nwakali scored the second goal by successfully converting the penalty awarded Nigeria following a foul committed by a Chilean player inside the box.
Also, the Eaglets who kept dominating the match added the third goal at resumption of the second half in the 61st minutes through Samuel Chukwueze again.
The Chilean players at this point were restless also became very aggressive thus committing another foul inside the box, giving Nigeria another penalty kick opportunity that Victor Osimeh successfully converted in the 66th minutes to record the fourth goal.
In the 81st minutes, Chile reduced the tally when ALLENDE scored their first goal.
However, in the 86th minutes, Victor Osimeh scored the fifth goal for Nigeria, two minutes after Funsho Bamgboye was sent off the pitch.
The Golden Eaglets are billed to play their last Group A match on Friday against Croatia.
