A woman, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, has been inaugurated alongside Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri as the first female deputy governor in the state as well as in the Northeast.
Farauta was sworn in with Fintiri, who was running for a second term, by the first female chief judge in the state, Justice Hafsa Abdulrahman.
Our correspondent reports that Farauta is the former Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi.
Speaking after he was sworn in at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, Governor Fintiri said he would run his second term with the same fear of God as he did in his first tenure.
He implored the people to help him with the task of leadership.
“We must submit to the norm of co-existing peacefully. I call on everyone to join me in building a state we can all be proud of,” Fintiri said.
