Fresh crisis has again erupted in Ekiti, as all major roads leading to Ado-Ekiti, the state capital have been blocked by state workers and supporters of Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The protesters were also reported to have stopped and declined passage to an ambulance carrying a casket, claiming that the embattled speaker Adewale Omirin was the one pretending dead in the casket.

Earlier, a planned prayer meeting by members of the state chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, at Ejigbo Junction was disrupted by thugs said to have dressed in APC vests.

The APC however debunked the claim that they sent thugs after the workers, claiming that the thugs were of PDP pretending to be APC members.

Members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, who are known to be Fayose’s supporters, have also weighed-in in solidarity with the governor, leading to increase violence around the New Garage and Ejigbo area of the state capital.

A source told our correspondent on the telephone that a sacrificial offering or ritual, known in Yoruba as ebo was sighted in front of the House of Assembly Complex.

Recalled that the Federal High Court, Abuja on Thursday, for the second time, refused the plea by Fayose to stop the ongoing impeachment plan by the All Progressives Congress members in the State House of Assembly.
