Another faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ganduje ward, Dawakin Tofa LGA of Kano, has announced the suspension of Abdullahi Ganduje.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday, Ja’afar Ganduje, secretary of the faction, alleged that Ganduje, APC national chairman, engaged in anti-party affairs.

The secretary, who spoke on behalf of 11 other executive members, said the faction is the authentic leadership of the Ganduje ward.

He blamed the APC national chairman for the existence of multiple factions in the ward.

“First, we have suspended Ganduje’s membership for creating internal conflict among party members at the ward level,” NAN quoted him as saying.

“Another major reason why the authentic executives resolved to suspend Ganduje is the issue of anti-party activities he committed during the 2023 elections, which resulted in the party’s failure in the state.”

The suspension comes days after a faction of the ward had suspended Ganduje over corruption allegations.

The initial suspension was announced by Halliru Gwanzo, legal adviser of the ward, during a briefing with journalists in Kano on April 15.

Subsequently, the working committee of the APC in Kano nullified the suspension and sanctioned the ward executives.

A few days later, some APC leaders in Ganduje ward paid a solidarity visit to the national chairman in Abuja.

THE LEGAL BATTLE

On April 17, the Kano state high court affirmed the suspension of Ganduje by the ward executives.

The court, while granting an ex parte order, also restrained the former Kano governor from parading himself as a member of the APC.

Twenty-four hours later, a federal high court in Kano ordered the suspension of Ganduje to be halted.
